What Others Say
An Inclusive Sunday School creates a welcoming and supportive environment where all children, including those with disabilities, can fully participate and thrive. Adapting content from the Certificate of Christian Disability Ministry’s Inclusive Christian Education training conducted previously, this first of two training modules helps Sunday School leaders and teachers reimagine their approach through theological insights and practical strategies.
Topics Covered
- Inclusive Discipleship: Define the Biblical goal and core heartbeat of an Inclusive Sunday school, recognising that children with and without disabilities belong together in the classroom
- Supporting Individual Needs: Develop a better understanding of some common special needs in children you may teach in the Sunday School classroom
- Classroom Management: Identify, describe and apply useful behavioural management strategies to manage unexpected behaviour, encourage good behaviour and prevent challenging behaviour to create an inclusive environment
- Inclusive Lesson Design: Understand how children with special needs can be loved and discipled through implementing inclusive practices in the Sunday School classroom

- Inclusive Lesson Design (Adv.): Model inclusive attitudes and language to shape understanding and promote empathy among all children to ensure every child can grow in faith
